Some excellent points here. I love action movies, but only those where I care about the characters and their predicament. The Bourne films (or at least, the first three) are a great example. I also love how in Die Hard, Bruce Willis isn't an Arnie or Stallone type, but we get the impression he might go under at any moment (bearing in mind when the film was released, Willis was best known for TV series Moonlighting, so not really considered an action star).
