Some excellent shouts here, particularly The Night of the Hunter, Batman Returns (hugely underrated), Trading Places, Gremlins (which actually did come out just before Christmas in the UK), The Godfather, Catch Me If You Can (one of Spielberg's best), Edward Scissorhands, In Bruges, The French Connection...
