Some suggested reliable sources:

1. Mark Kermode on the Mark Kermode/Simon Mayo podcast. I occasionally disagree with him, but he's right a lot of the time.

2. Empire magazine. Not 100 percent reliable, but broadly accurate as a barometer of popular opinion.

3. Peter Bradshaw (but not other Guardian reviewers, except Mark Kermode, who technically writes for the Observer). Again, not always right, but he always makes a good case.

4. Me, bluntly. I have an absolute plethora of recommendation articles in multiple genres. Check out the "Dillon on Film" list on my profile.

5. If you want something more academic and analytical, Sight and Sound magazine has some great features. The BFI (British Film Institute) website in general is also well worth browsing.
