Something that deeply depresses me. English (and history and the like) are invariably referred to as "humanities", which as far as I'm concerned means we can accurately describe maths as an "inhumanity". I also massively struggled with it, and think it is inhumane to make students persevere with maths all the way to 16 if it clearly isn't their gifting. I remember passing my GCSE and feeling profound relief that I'd never, ever have to study the wretched subject again.
