Sorry to hear about the double misfire of Splash and Ed Wood with your parents. I love both. And yes, the Welles meeting is total fiction but a lovely scene.

The Nightmare Before Christmas doesn't count because he didn't direct it (as I say in my introduction), but it is marvellous, I agree. Also, that Edward Scissorhands ballet sounds fascinating. I can see that working really well, potentially.
