Spirited Away was always going to claim my Miyazaki slot, great though those other films undoubtedly are. If I was going to bend my one-film-per-director rule, I probably would have done so with Michael Powell, who deserved a second slot on this list for A Matter of Life and Death (co-directed with Emeric Pressburger).
