Take out "stupidly" and I agree. Rowling is a far better writer than many (including you) give her credit for, I think. The Harry Potter books are a brilliant infusion of school story, coming-of-age, and mystery, with the magical elements the icing on a delightful cake. I've always loved them. Yes, they aren't James Joyce, but thank God for that.
