I completely agree with you on JK Rowling. When I discovered the Harry Potter novels at the back end of the 1990s, I felt as though I had a second childhood (I was in my early 20s). I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter and the Strike series, and will continue to read both without apology.

Thinking about it, what I’d also compare cancel culture to is McCarthyism. The unforgiving, intolerant attitudes are very similar.
