Thank you Aimee. Of course, this review is just my opinion, but none of my opinions are particularly humble (especially those concerning film). ;)

Regarding what you said about storytelling, watching bad films or TV dramas, or reading bad novels, is never a waste of time, because the study of failure is instructive and humbling. I’ve learned a lot more from watching bad films than I have from watching good films.

One of the key lessons here: A subplot must intersect meaningfully with the main plot. Otherwise the story feels disjointed and uneven.

Another key lesson: Why so serious? A bit of dark humour would have been entirely appropriate to offset the grimness (grimness here being mistaken for substance).
