Thank you. Some brilliant points here. You're right about the colour choices and compositions in this film. The pastel hues of Seahaven Island portray a remarkable guilded cage, so to speak. And every single shot is really well thought through in terms of what it contains (or doesn't).
On top of this, great point about the metaphorical crucifixion and resurrection. There's also a baptism metaphor of sorts, immersed in the sea, and then out again, a new man. I agree that this allegorical interpretation may not be entirely intentional, but it is there nonetheless.
