Thank you for saying this. I must admit I am rather sick of this tiresome blanket vilification. After a while it gets to even the most thick-skinned of us. I don't read any articles with such blanket demonising in headlines or subheadings any more. I don't see why I should inflict sanctimonious, condescending tirades about how everything bad (typically in the US) is my fault on myself, when I'm simply a humble, struggling UK-based writer attempting to stay afloat financially in a hugely competitive market.

But I one hundred percent agree with the ire directed at James Patterson - not because he's a white man, but because I loathe everything he represents.
