That would have given me rage too. I read many novels to my children as they grew up - including some that you mention here - and I'm pleased to say they are fairly well-versed in literature as a result. Neither are the big reader that I am, but they do at least read.

On the plus side, they both despise all social media with a raging passion and refuse to have any. So no TwitTok thank the Lord. :)
