That's a great line. Also, completely agreed re: Gene Hackman. Bonnie and Clyde, The French Connection (and French Connection II), The Conversation, Scarecrow, Night Moves, Eureka, Under Fire, Mississippi Burning, Unforgiven, Crimson Tide, The Royal Tenebaums... So many great roles.

As for other films where the main star doesn't appear for an hour, nothing leaps to mind immediately (Braveheart maybe?), though the idea of not introducing the superhero fully formed at first is in many superhero origin stories. In Batman Begins, we don't get to see Batman for about an hour either.

And yes, Lois's atrocious spelling is hilarious. :)
