That's a tough watch, and I do think the rape scene with Susan George is questionable in a number of respects (it implies she comes to like it with the first rapist, but not with the second - yet bizarrely censors would often cut the second part of the scene, which made the overall effect worse and more problematic, in my opinion). Overall it is a compelling film though. However, I prefer Peckinpah's westerns (especially The Wild Bunch and Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid).
