That's complicated, but in essence, my parents were evangelical Christians who wanted me privately educated at a Christian school in Witney called The King's School (that's a colourful tale for another time). When I left there, at 16, I wanted to do Media Studies among my A-levels, and Abingdon School didn't offer that. So I went to Abingdon College (and later to Southampton University, to study film).

I'm surprised your son doesn't remember my father, but then again, I don't remember half the teachers who taught me, so perhaps that's unremarkable. Click on this, and you'll see a photo of my father circa 1992, and a mention on page 39. :)
