That’s fair enough, but didn’t you have Clinton throughout most of the decade? Plus mainstream Hollywood did deliver some amazing films during that decade - far more creative, incisive, and groundbreaking than now. Obviously, gun violence isn’t really an issue here in the UK, but we did have the Dunblane massacre (after which gun laws were immediately and permanently tightened, which prevented repeat incidents).
I had an absolute blast in the 1990s, especially with A-levels/university and the music scene (Britpop rather than grunge - Blur, Suede, Pulp, Radiohead, Supergrass, Sleeper, etc, plus amazing dance bands like The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, the amazing dance tunes of the early 90s with acts like The KLF, Shamen, etc, plus yes, I did like Take That, Spice Girls, and other bubblegum pop acts, and all-time favourite acts like Pet Shop Boys and U2 were also at their height). :)
Politically, we were at the arse-end of Tory incompetence (a bit like where we are now, only not as bad), but were excited when Tony Blair came to power with New Labour, only to be disappointed in the early 2000s when he dragged us into a pointless war in Iraq.
