The 2005 version is fairly good, though unnecessarily overblown. (Why have one T-Rex when three will do?) I much prefer the 1933 original, which is one of my all-time favourites. My children are both obsessed with the 1933 version, and have only watched the 2005 version once (they weren't impressed). There's a 1976 version too, which is pretty terrible (no dinosaurs for one thing) but isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. When it comes to Kong, I think Skull Island is rather fun too, in a bonkers, Apocalypse Now meets The Land That Time Forgot sort of way.
