Most of that last paragraph to me just read "something something superbowl". But as for music, the 90s really were very different for you lot in the US. For me, 1995 was all about Pulp, Blur, Oasis, Ash, Lightning Seeds, The Boo Radleys, as well as Take That, dance music (Corona, Strike, N-Trance, Livin' Joy, etc), and the (brief) return of Human League ("Tell Me When" was a top ten smash in the UK, recalling their early 1980s glory days).

Still, there's some overlap here with Neurosis Morrisette (as I used to call her) and Coolio, both of which were also big here. And I expect U2's superb "Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me" was big in the US too (it reached number 2 here). It's the only good thing about Batman Forever.
