The crux of the matter, for me. I think we should abandon the idea of hate speech and simply focus on enforcing existing public order legislation. That way, any attacks on any marginalised people groups or whatnot fall under "incitement" which is something that can be prosecuted with common sense, rather than handwringing about someone holding a "hateful" opinion.
