I can understand re: Straw Dogs. It's well-crafted but brutally unpleasant, and somewhat misogynistic (a common flaw in Peckinpah's work).

The Dark Crystal is a bit of a masterpiece. Labyrinth I like too - with some reservations - but a lot of that is childhood nostalgia. :)
