The early to mid 80s stuff is generally better - Someone, Somewhere in Summertime, Promised You a Miracle, Glittering Prize, Don't You Forget About Me, Sanctify Yourself, All the Things She Said, and Alive and Kicking (which I used to mishear as "I'd love a chicken"). I was less keen on the later records (the needlessly overblown and miserable Belfast Child for instance).
