The film satirises people who constantly use these, as though they are programmed rather than having any original thoughts of their own. But the film is on the nose enough to actually have a character state this outright, and he's just as much of a nitwit as the rest of them. The effect is rather akin to jumping into a vat of excrement and having someone next to you say it smells in here.
