The first great horror film (in my not remotely humble opinion) and a great twist, I agree. :)

In the 1990s, plot twists and twist endings weren’t new cinematic storytelling devices. Over 100 years ago, in 1920, a German, black and white horror film, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari wowed audiences with its brilliant, silent twist ending long before the first “talkie” ever hit the screen.
