The idea of some AI bot that can be sped up reading my articles fills me with unspeakable crushing dread and horror. This will completely destroy authorial voice (for example, the distinct British sarcasm in a lot of my pieces will be lost if read in a different accent). Some writers already record audio of their articles - in the tone and pace they intend - so taking it out of their hands is a terrible, terrible idea.

If this is going to happen, it must be an opt-in feature only. Otherwise, this infernal development needs to be cast back into the fiery chasm from whence it came. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
