The key word in the title of this is “favourite” rather than “greatest”. If I were to write the latter this list would be substantially different. This is a distinction I’m at pains to point out throughout my film writing. :)

When writing my regular reviews, I adopt a more strictly critical stance, but for these pieces, I tend to stick to favourites (unless specified as "greatest"), though I typically keep the ten-year rule. :)
