The Matrix is a solid choice.

The Thing I consider more a horror film, and King Kong more a fantasy-adventure film. Donnie Darko counts, I suppose, and I love that film, but I think of it as a peculiar horror-black comedy/drama hybrid more than sci-fi (though it is sci-fi too). Clash of the Titans I think of as fantasy. :)
