Thelma & Louise and Wild Oats is an interesting pairing. I quite like it. I am not sure about Miller's Crossing and The Usual Suspects, although Kevin Spacey's performance in the latter remains outstanding, regardless of allegations against him offscreen.
Chinatown I'd pair with LA Confidential. Both have labyrinthine thriller plots set in LA (albeit in slightly different eras), and whilst one is police centred and the other PI centred, I think the themes are similar (corruption, etc).
As for McCabe and Mrs Miller, that's a tough one. It could perhaps be paired with counter culture westerns from around the same period (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, for instance) or even something like Peckinpah's The Ballad of Cable Hogue or Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. Outside of westerns, it could even be paired with another of Altman's attempts at genre subversion, such as The Long Goodbye.
Happy New Year to you too. :)
