There are some great dark jokes about death in this. It doesn't condescend to children, although I'd argue adults will perhaps enjoy this more, given the themes of parenthood (specifically motherhood) from birth to childhood, adolescence, leaving home, empty nest syndrome, etc. Plus it is beautifully animated. A lovely film. Great review by the way. :)
