There is a special place in the infernal realms for people who use phones in cinemas. The sheer selfishless, lack of consideration, and lack of self-awareness involved in using a phone in a cinema staggers me, especially with that infuriating pinging and light pollution, entirely ruining the cinematic illusion. If you really can't afford to be out of contact for a couple of hours (and most people who use phones in cinemas damn well can be), stay at home. NO texting is acceptable, regardless of light levels, plane mode, or whatever. The only acceptable setting for a phone in a cinema is off. Not silent, not low light mode, OFF.
