This criticism was around at the time, but I've never really bought it. I think it doesn't matter because Slumdog Millionaire isn't really meant to be "realistic". I've always read it primarily as a fable and secondly as Oliver Twist meets It's a Wonderful Life in Mumbai. In short, I've always loved it.

Still, a great review and brilliantly written, as always. :)
