This is another of my major issues.

A remake should choose one direction and commit to it. If it’s going to be a horror movie, it needs to bring back the slow-building tension and fear that made Alien so terrifying. If it’s going to be a philosophical exploration of creation and destruction, it needs to provide more concrete answers and delve deeper into the character’s inner struggles. Either way, the film needs a stronger sense of identity.
