This needs to be shut down immediately, unilaterally, and with international legislation passed to make it illegal worldwide.

For years, I've warned about the because-we-can mentality of tech scientists bludgeoning ahead regardless with this unbelievably foolish endeavour. Science fiction has had it right all these years, with the many prophetic warnings. Will the human race collectively heed the warning? Or will it rush into catastrophe blinkered by corporate greed and the power-crazed lure of an AI arms race?
