Three points:

1) As Justin has pointed out, this title is derived from a Hans Christian Andersen story.

2) The film sounds interesting. It is yet to get a UK cinema release date, so I daresay I'll catch up with it when I can. It had bloody better not go straight to streaming or I'll have a tantrum.

3) It was great to glean a little more of the Eric Pierce backstory. The pieces are slowly coming together, but what I will say at this point is you clearly turned things around, and came out very well indeed, despite painful issues with the paternal parent. I think you have every reason to be proud of that, and believe me, it takes one to know one. Given the darkness of the Dillon Empire backstory, I'm astonished I am the person that I am today. :)
