To answer your question, I'm fairly old fashioned when it comes to note taking (ie I use journals and notepads).
I've had a few novels self-published and three traditionally published with an indie publisher, but so far none of these have been fantasy (mostly horror-thriller mysteries, a couple of dystopian sci-fi pieces, and a few children's adventure stories). Fantasy is bloody difficult to nail, and so far I've only attempted it in short stories, some of which I've published on Medium.
However, on the shelf, I do have a massive, longer than War and Peace epic, that I have written and rewritten on and off since late 1999. It still needs considerable work, but I've run it past quite a few guinea pigs now, and it's getting there slowly but surely. One day, maybe it will see the light of day. Who knows?
