To behead one wife may be regarded as a misfortune. To behead two looks like carelessness.

Incidentally, when our eldest son was born, my wife said to me: "Now you won't have to behead me because I produced an heir." Not sure quite whether that reflects well on me, or whether she views me as a megalomaniac. I'll go and ask...
