Well, obviously I disagree with you on Blade Runner (I think my list links to my essay on how much I love that film), and I confess I'm slightly unsure what your issue is with the pacing in the first half of Alien (a deliciously atmospheric build-up), but I can't argue with you about The Lord of the Rings. Fantastic films (and the novel). :)
