Well, other opinions are available. I think this is a much more nuanced film than you give it credit for. Nor do I really think it is a satire, but a tragedy and a specific indictment of certain aspects of American society. If you don't think it succeeds on those terms, fair enough. But I think it does (with reservations of course, as I point out in the article). :)
