Well, there are complicating factors here. 1) I've never been to a drive-in (I just don't like the idea, plus we don't really have them in the UK) so I can't comment on that aspect. 2) It sounds like there was another person with you, possibly the driver, who therefore had a veto on staying. If so, it's not your decision and doesn't count.
