Wes Anderson definitely belongs in the first category I mention, as you say, but again, it's not all his doing, as you rightly point out. Anderson has lost me lately (I wasn't impressed with Asteroid City or The French Dispatch) but I did like Moonrise Kingdom and The Grand Budapest Hotel. :)
