Whilst I do indeed lament the loss of 35mm and 70mm (damn, I miss them so much, and am really annoyed the only places to see them in the UK are now sorely limited), the digital projection at all my local cinemas - both multiplexes (including IMAX) and independent venues - is pretty good. I don't see that it needs to be brighter. I'm sorry the venues near you aren't better.

All that said, I don't think home cinema systems beat the cinema experience. Herewith the first article I ever posted on Medium:
