With cinema closures of the kind you mention, the Devil is indeed present. I'm still absolutely gutted at the closure and demolition of the Odeon Marble Arch, once the biggest single screen venue in London (it was divided into five screens in the mid 1990s, and finally closed down about ten years ago).
