Yes, 1999 was an exceptionally strong year for films. Although for me, 1994 remains the absolute pinnacle of the 1990s. (My cinematic year in the UK, bearing in mind release date differences to the US, included: Carlito's Way, The Remains of the Day, In the Name of the Father, Short Cuts, The Age of Innocence, Schindler's List, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Shadowlands, Chungking Express, In the Mouth of Madness, Eat Drink Man Woman, Farewell My Concubine, Three Colours: Red, Three Colours: White, Speed, Ed Wood, Wyatt Earp, True Lies, Forrest Gump, Little Women, Death and the Maiden, A Bronx Tale, Heavenly Creatures, Pulp Fiction, The Lion King... I could go on.)
