Yes and no. Example: I saw both The Goonies and Back to the Future in the cinema in 1985 during their original runs. I was ten. I loved both. But as an adult, although I have a lot of happy nostalgia attached to The Goonies, objectively speaking, I can see it isn't a great film. By contrast, Back to the Future is a nigh-on flawless masterpiece. Personally, I value having critical faculties as an adult. On the other hand, adults who dismiss films primarily aimed at children out of hand (you know the type - people who refuse to watch Disney or Pixar films because they're "kids films") have lost their sense of childlike wonder and I feel nothing but pity for them.
