Yes, I can approach a film that way, but I never do on a first viewing. I want to experience it properly, as a viewer. So if it's a horror film, I want to be scared, if it's a comedy, I want to laugh, if it's a thriller, I want to be thrilled, if it's a love story, I want to be moved, if it's weepie, I want to cry, etc.
