Yes, I suppose that's a fair point about the motherhood thing, though horror has a history of subverting what is considered wholesome, so it didn't really bother me. And there are plenty of abused-person-driven-to-murderous-insanity tales aplenty in horror, so I suppose one more didn't really cause me to think too deeply.
