Yes, my parents eventually told me everything, and no, it's not going to be written about here, for all sorts of reasons. But I will say this: My rage at what happened to them occasionally appears in my fiction (in disguise), as does my contempt for authoritarianism, oppressive religious systems, and abuse of power. I have always loved them both (my father died in 2012).

I was thrilled when we finally got a colour TV too (also at Christmas - Christmas 1986 to be precise). But that's another story. :)
