Your comment was fair and reasonable. I can't understand the lack of thick skin either.

One thing I will add: As per Some Guy's comment, it drives me absolutely nuts when someone leaves a comment on your piece then blocks you so you can't read it or respond (this has happened to me a couple of times). In one particular case (according to someone else who revealed what the comment said), the individual in question assumed 1) I was American, 2) a Trump voter, and 3) proceeded to berate me for a comment I hadn't made, and for a political viewpoint I didn't have. Not only staggeringly cowardly, but also staggeringly stupid.
