You've put a lot of thought and energy into this, which I appreciate. Also, thank you for the shout at the start.
Personally, I love the original three, but am less enamoured with the final two. Raiders of the Lost Ark is the greatest adventure film ever made, and I will brook no argument with that. Temple of Doom I like a lot more than you, for various reasons. Last Crusade is almost as good as Raiders (ironically featuring an Elsa who couldn't let it go).
Then we get to the last two. The CGI isn't the only issue I have with them, but it is a major issue. The Raiders truck chase is vastly superior to the weightless computer graphics of that jungle chase in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. That said, I quite like the first half of that film, and overall prefer it to the Dial of Destiny (though admittedly, I've only watched that once, last summer during the original cinema release).
Digitally de-aging Indy is one thing, but then putting him into all those CGI backgrounds during the opening train chase just didn't work for me, especially considering the following week (pretty much) we got Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning, which featured a real fight on a moving train that felt far, far more exciting and dangerous.
Not wanting to overextend this comment, I'll leave you with four links if you're interested in my further thoughts on any of the specific films (except Crystal Skull).
